The UAE and Jordan have signed a $2.3 billion agreement to build railways connecting the port of Aqaba to the mining areas of Al-Shidiya and Ghor Al-Safi.
The project is part of a $5.5bn investment package signed between the two countries last year. The 360km rail line will transport up to 16 million tonnes of phosphate and fertilisers annually, improving logistics and export operations.
In addition to the railway projects, the UAE continues to invest heavily in Jordan, with total investments totalling around $22.5 billion over the past decade.
